Things to Do
We adore San Diego (clearly!), so we think we have some good ideas of fun ways to spend the day! Some of our favorite activities, locations, and food spots are listed below.
Even if we haven't listed it here, there is so much to do, see, and eat. Let us know if you found a hidden gem!
San Diego Zoo
We've had many an anniversary at the San Diego Zoo. It's a great place for kids and adults alike!
We also recommend the San Diego Zoo Safari Park, located a bit more north in Escondido, CA.
Balboa Park
Balboa Park has something for everyone. There are a variety of museums, the Japanese Tea Garden, the Spanish Art Village, the Botanical Building, and some great bars/restaurants such as The Prado. It's also a lovely place to lay out a blanket and have a picnic or simply walk around.
La Jolla Shores
La Jolla Shores is a great beach that also has some of our favorite spots. La Jolla Kayak is our go-to for kayak and snorkel tours. Shorehouse Kitchen is our favorite brunch spot. Shore Rider Bar is a great place to get in the San Diego spirit. Scoops La Jolla offers some great ice cream. You can't go wrong with any place here!
Liberty Station
Our wedding location! Liberty Station used to be the Naval Training Center that is now converted into a beautiful space that houses a public market, food vendors, coffee shops, artist studios, and more.
